I think
with «An Inspector Calls» the author is trying to give a message to the readers.
He wants to show them what possibly could happen if everything comes together
although all the actions of the members of family Birling weren’t illegal. The
author probably wanted to show the readers how not to treat people in daily
life. Perhaps the story is also a message for the government and how they built
the law with all the rights and duties. Because although all the actions of the
family members weren’t illegal, the young girl still died. The mystery that the
girl died after the Inspector warned the family members is perhaps also a
message that nothing is lost just because it seems to be too late to react.
Never say never. And if the family members would have done something at this moment
and if they wouldn’t have felt in safety the girl would probably still live.
